This project is a rental building with 24 affordable units. The original design proposed by Issac & Stern Architects had lower floors faced with Kolumba brick and modern industrial windows, and above the third floor, the building was to be enclosed by a unique glass curtain wall system that would reflect the park from across the street. However, due to budget restrictions, the building had to be redesigned by our office.
The final elevation, including the interiors, was designed in collaboration by Meshberg Group and Issac & Stern Architects. The exterior has an industrial look on floors 1-4, with large industrial windows and glass enclosures on the upper penthouse levels.
The building has a frontage of 150 feet on Lorimer Street with a gross area of 49,500 square feet and 52 dwelling units.
