This was one of the first projects on the Lower East Side of Manhattan, contributing to the neighborhood’s revitalization.
Inspired by the storied neighborhood, Issac & Stern Architects designed an elegant elevation with articulated brickwork, prominent cornices, and a wood-clad ground floor. Expansive arched windows that allow abundant natural light to flow into the interior completed the exterior’s reimagination of turn-of-the-century architecture.
Through close collaboration with the Eklund Gomes team at Douglas Elliman and Paris Forino interior design, Issac & Stern meticulously crafted the building’s interior and exterior spaces with a keen focus on flow and balance. 50 Clinton’s final design has translated to the commercial success of the project.
50 Clinton comprises a variety of apartment sizes. The cellar in the east portion of the building encompasses three lower-level duplex residences that are connected to the units on the first floor and have access to the east-facing garden terrace. The first floor has three residential units on the east side of the property (rear yard) and a commercial, street-level storefront on the west side. Residential units are located on floors 2-7. The building was designed and constructed for mixed use, with a total gross area of 43,000 square feet and 37 dwelling units. The structure is seven stories high over the cellar.
